4/2/2023 0 Comments Dsmenu fire emblem werid lines![]() Has become a bit of a meme due to its main theme song.įates - The current FE game that's not a remake, and by far the darkest. The possibilities are endless! The plot is somewhat episodic, but the story revolves around the resurrection of Grima, the strange girl Lucina, and Ike's descendant Priam. Your OC can be any class, marry any character you want, or have any skill you want. That strange amnesiac? Well.that's you! That's right, you can make your own OC in this game. Most importantly, it ruins the "hot springs scene" between Ike and Micaiah that undeniably proves Ike to be straight.Īwakening - Takes place ONE THOUSAND years after Radiant Dawn!* You play as Marth's descendant, Chrom, who finds a strange amnesiac on the road. Furthermore, key parts of the script was taken out, making details such as the Blood Contract or Pelleas' character less clear. The English localization of Radiant Dawn is widely considered to be subpar, as the difficulty modes are tinkered with, essentially tricking players into playing Hard Mode when they really want Normal Mode. However, it ain't gonna be easy, as the new chick on the block, Micaiah stands in his way, and there's a little more to her than meets the eye. Radiant Dawn - After the events of Subspace Emissary, Ike has lost his lord title, as well as his best friend (NOT boyfriend) Marth. Before you ask, no, don't listen to the fujoshi. You play as mercenary Ike who sets out to avenge his father, who was killed by The Black Knight, but finds he has bitten off a little more than he can chew. The flood has left the human population was on the verge of extinction, so in order to survive, they were forced to breed with animals: leading to half-human half-animal hybrids called "laguz". A great flood has hit the world of FE, drowning all continents but Tellius, which is a future Archanea. Path of Radiance - Takes place centuries after Sacred Stones. Do not use Seth, as he steals EXP from units who deserve it better like Ross. Takes place in Magvel, a land crawling with undead horrors, so the game has a unique "religious horror" vibe to it. Sacred Stones - Probably the most disconnected FE of them all, assuming you don't buy into the growing "Eirika is Lyn's grand-daughter" theory. ![]() This is the first FE to come to America, and what a game to pick, as this game has many well-balanced innovations such as weather effects and anti-magic zones. This game is again a small-scale affair, as Lyn and her sidekicks traverse through Elibe to stop a madman and his small group from unleashing dragons upon the earth. The game seems mostly disconnected from the others, but characters like Karla and Karel are heavily implied to come from Jugdral, as they are black-haired swordspeople which Jugdral also has.īlazing Blade - Features Roy's son, Eliwood, though he plays second fiddle to the true main character and the most popular female FE character: Lyn. It features Melee star Roy, who's just as useful in this game as he is in Melee. This has ramifications down the line for the franchise.īinding Blade - Takes place on a brand new continent: Elibe. Interestingly enough for us FE historians, the game confirms the existence of America within the Fire Emblem setting. A true cult classic for its difficulty and excellent story telling. Thracia 776 - A small scale sequel to Genealogy, starring Seliph's cousin Leif. The game takes place on the new Jugdral continent, and is very popular for fans for being quite dark. Halfway in, you play as Sigurd's own son: Seliph. You play as Marth's descendant, Sigurd as he's wrapped up in a trecherous political conspiracy. Genealogy of the Holy War - Takes place a couple centuries after Mystery of the Emblem, after Marth blood bonds with Tiki to create a new set of holy weapons. It basically comes down to if you weigh gameplay or story more. This has a remake, but whether or not its better is.controversial. Mystery of the Emblem - A true sequel to Shadow Dragon, once again starring Marth and his friends. Again, it's recommended you play the remake, Shadows of Valentia, instead of the Famicom original. Gaiden - A follow up side-story to the original game, taking place on a different continent, sharing a handful of characters. It's recommended you play one of the remakes instead of the original. Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light - The first game in the series, starring Marth as he fights against the tyranical Medeus who lords over the continent of Archanea. For those who wish to play the games in chronological order, here it is: The FE timeline has been an intense subject of debate, but in recent years, thanks to crossovers and developer interviews, hardcore fans like myself have managed to piece together a coherent timeline of the games.
